Bernalillo County is a funder of the New Day Life Skills Academy a program where youth between the ages of 16-22 learn vital life skills that prepare them for their future.
Duke City Civitan Charitable Fund Inc.
The Duke City Civitan Club has "adopted" New Day and our youth and have become great supporters of our work. They visit the Safe Home regularly, offering mentoring and activities for the kids. They have also provided special gifts, donations of various goods and services, as well as a great connection into our community. The Duke City Civitan Club truly fulfills the spirit of what it means to be a community partner.
An emergency shelter with 16 youth receives a lot of wear and tear and can quickly look rundown. This year, with the help our amazing partner Dekker/Perich/Sabatini the Safe Home received a major facelift. This included new floors, paint, furniture, window coverings and a whole new "look" to our entry way, living room and recreation room.
Our Safe Home now truly does feel like a home. Such a major change could never have been done without the help of this wonderful business and their many colleagues, including: American Home, Rays Flooring, Wall Resources, Interface Carpets, Tandus Carpets, Carpets by Sonia, Pallas Textiles, Glidden Paint, and Laticrete.
Thank you to everyone!!
