● What? |
|
New Day’s Drop In Center (The Space) utilizes a peer-driven approach to provide a low-barrier and safe refuge to engage any young person who is feeling disconnected or is unhoused. The Space provides resources such as basic needs, medical and legal aid, behavioral health and community resources.
● Why? |
|
The traumatic histories of some of the young people in our community can result in a sense of disconnection, marginalization, and disenfranchisement. While they may want and need help, they have often lost trust in the very systems that can provide that help.
The Drop-In Center is designed to create a welcoming peer-driven environment to overcome the barriers young people experience and offer a genuine, youth-centered pathway to a deeper connection with safety, the community and themselves.
