● What? |
|
The internship is designed for young people who have never held a job or who have been unable to successfully keep a job. It teaches – and gives opportunities to practice – the fundamental functional and emotional skills sets necessary to succeed in the workplace.
● Why? |
|
Youth who have experienced homelessness, trauma and other hardships often have trouble finding and keeping employment. Which is why New Day created the internship, a project out of our Life Skills Academy. The program focuses on developing employability and job readiness skills, exploring careers, and participating in specialized training. As young people engage in these opportunities, they build the foundation for successful employment in their future.
Do you want to volunteer with the First Jobs Program or attend an “Appy Hour” event to sample the young people’s food and learn more about the program? Email [email protected] to sign up or for more information.
